2013 Season

Hi,

I respectfully ask that you take a few moments and read the message below.

As we are now wrapping up 2012, we need to look forward to the 2013 season.

Over the past year have you thought...

-This could be organized better
-We need a proper banquet
-I want to change the clubs clothing
-We need some good races
-I could do a better job running the club
-What is going on with the club?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions then maybe it is time for you to step up and volunteer.

Serving on the executive does not require any specific knowledge, training, or experience (perhaps the treasurer would be the exception to this).  The only thing that you need is a passion for the club, a little time and effort, and wanting to do what you think is best for the SCC.

It is clear when you read our Facebook page that there are many active members who want events, and want change; however up to now few have said they are willing to do something to create change.

Half of the executive is elected every year, so there will always be continuity, and someone to answer questions that the new volunteers have.  Additionally I know that the current exec members that are leaving their posts will be more than willing to help with any concerns new people may have.

What you should expect:

-A two hour meeting every couple of months
-A bit of take away work (i.e. Reserving a banquet spot, answering emails, volunteering at races etc)
-The respect and admiration of your peers
-For 2013 we are willing to do a trial of a free SCC membership to exec members

Who are we currently Nominating:

-Vice President
-Treasurer
-Race Director
-Membership Chair (Seat Vacant from 2012, only a one year term)

What do do:

Email Sudburycc@gmail.com with the name and position of the member that you want to nominate by December the 21st.

Once a member has been nominated the exec will confirm with him or her that they accept the nomination.

If more than one person accepts the nomination we will have an election.  If only one person accepts the nomination for a certain position they will be acclaimed.

Please, thoughtfully consider what you can do to help the club in 2013.
